INGREDIENTS
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup dark, heavy molasses
- 2 tablespoons got water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon each of cinnamon, cloves, ginger
- Several cups of flour
METHODS
- Warm the molasses in a fairly large bowl and add the butter, hot water, vinegar and soda. Watch it froth up!
- Add the sugar and spices, mix and finally add enough flour to make dough.
- Drop on to greased cookie sheets and press them flat with your palm.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 175˚C.
