  1. Warm the molasses in a fairly large bowl and add the butter, hot water, vinegar and soda. Watch it froth up!
  2. Add the sugar and spices, mix and finally add enough flour to make dough.
  3. Drop on to greased cookie sheets and press them flat with your palm.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes at 175˚C.
